What do people think are the best software (free or paid) that you can get to make some retro game soundtracks? B)

Well for my experience i can say that you can start with Reason and a good MIDI/USB piano keyboard.
But there are so many other way to do electronic music.
The most simple and used way is the MOD Editor.
Is a sequence of notes that slide from the begin to end of a pattern (repeated or different) to create a song.
You can load different instruments and play it.
