CB Radio Box
#31
Be carefull with auto talk , one station in a noisey environment could stay in tx and jam that channel. Maybe ?

One idea: use the earphone button as PTT ? Wonder if thats possible.

Hi W6,

we are waiting Apple to publish the new update.
We solved all the bugs and introduced some new features.
As this is a particular app we needed to do experience on it without breaking the Apple rules.

I think Apple is full of review in this period, cause we are waiting since much days.
I think the update could come in any moment (since yesterday).
I think you and your son will be much happy of the new update coming.

For the "Free Hands" feature, is deprecated, just for the reason you explained before.
It can be a "boomerang" and much users can use it to block a channel.
So for the moment we preferred to leave without the "Free Hands".

See you on CB Radio Box!!
Wink

Edit : Hmmm, the earphone button? Is a nice idea, but where is the earphone button??

Apple ear phones have a switch ( button) in the earphone line .. I beleive it's normally used when listening to music to switch to a phone call. Im thinking it would be nice to put the iphone in your pocket with head phones plugged in and use CB Radio box using earphone button for PTT. This may not be possible as i haven't seen any other apps that use this button.

I have this app on my iphone and on my ipad. With the ipad connected thru wifi and the iphone connected thru the cellular network a transmission from the ipad takes half a minute before its heard thru the iphone. I hope it dosent take 30 seconds before others hear a transmission.

Hi W6,

wow is a really big bit time ....
Well the wi-fi is really bad, infact if you use it on the Mac is instantaneous.
And i already used the max compression and fastness i can do for wi-fi.

Usually the audio file is not bigger than 40K. Imagine a LAN sending 40K (it will be a second), but i don't know why on iPad/iPhone, so on the wi fi devices, it takes about 10 sec to send and 10 sec to receive.

I've also tested the game center as Radio, but with no luck.
I will think something to go faster...

For the earphone, i will take 1 to the apple shop and i will try to use it and learn how to use the button as the talk.
Now i understand what you mean and is a great idea!!

We are working hard to understand why the 3G and iPad/IPhone/iPod wi-fi is so slow.

On the MAC version is very fast as you are connected trough LAN.
Anyway soon we will do some test to improve this annoying issue (not our guilty).
